Lauren Alexandria Hooser was a supporting cast member on the MTV reality drama series Laguna Beach: The Real Orange County during the show's first two seasons as one of cast member Kristin Cavallari's two best friends. Despite her supposed snub in the show's opening credits, Alex often appeared with the start of every episode, especially in the second season, and shared more airtime than the other main cast members such as Talan Torriero, Taylor Cole and Jason Wahler. In one of the show's latter episodes from the second season, Alex mentioned of her plans to attend college in Santa Monica City in California.

In Season 1, which she narrated, LC had a crush on Stephen Coletti, her childhood friend. He, however, was with Kristen Cavelleri, so the pair never become anything more than friends.

She moved to San Francisco, California at the end of the first season to attend the Academy of Art University, where she majored in fashion design. She dropped out and returned to Laguna Beach, claiming she missed it too much.

In the second season, LC got an internship at Three Dots clothing company in Los Angeles, California. She struggled with her feelings for Stephen, but later became attracted to Jason Wahler, with whom she ‘hooked up' in one episode. In the next episode, however, he kissed his ex-girlfriend, Jessica Smith, in front of her, at the fashion show she was planning. They broke up, but are rumored to be back together.

As of December 2005, Lauren attends FIDM and is living in Los Angeles. She has a new show coming out on MTV called The Hills. Her younger sister, Breanna, is to become part of the show in Season 3.

Lauren Bosworth (born July 1, 1987, Laguna Beach, California), otherwise known as Lo, is an original cast member from Season 1, and is the best friend of Lauren Conrad (LC).

During the first season, Lo was a senior. She loves fashion, and one of her most famous lines from Season 1 was, "Everyday is a fashion show, Mom." She enjoys the television show The OC and likes living in Orange County herself. Her other favorite show is Newlyweds: Nick & Jessica. Her favorite sports teams are the Los Angeles Lakers, Los Angeles Angels, and the Oakland Raiders.

She received a Volkswagen Jetta during her senior year as a graduation present from her parents. As of December 2005, she attends college at UCSB, where she met her boyfriend, to whom she introduced LC in the beginning of the second season.

Stephen was a senior in the first season of the show. He was presented as a heartthrob and was the biggest part of the love triangle involving LC, Kristin and himself. He constantly lied to each of the girls about how he was and/or wasn't with the other, which caused a big fight. He was voted Life of the Party by his classmates.

Stephen loves to skate, surf and play golf. He remains best friends with Trey Phillips, whom he has known since kindergarten, and Dieter Schmitz, whom he has known since year two.

As of December 2005, he is living with his friends Jason Wahler and Dieter Schmitz in Los Angeles. It is speculated that he is now attending Santa Monica College.

Kristin Cavallari (born January 14, 1987 in Chicago, Illinois) She was the narrator, and main character, of Season 2. Kristin caused major drama throughout the first two seasons of the show. She dated Stephen while Lauren Conrad liked him in the first season. In the second season she became a fan favorite, known as the "bitch" because of her ways with men. But she once said that the editing made her seem like a bitch when she was never really like that. She knew she was well liked and used it to her advantage. Lauren Alexandria Hooser, a.k.a Alex H., and Jessica Smith are her best friends. On December 3, 2005, she attended VH1's Big in ‘05 Awards, as a nominee for the "it girl" of 2005, which was ultimately won by Lindsay Lohan. She has talked of a celebrity feud with Lohan because of this.

She was on the cover of Seventeen, had sexy photos in Rolling Stone and has appeared on numerous television talk shows. As of December 2005, she is dating Brody Jenner and plans on pursuing an acting career.

Taylor Cole (born January 7, 1987 in San Bernadino, California) is from Season 2. Her best friend is Alex M. although they once fought over the same guy and Taylor "stole" Alex's boyfriend in 8th grade. She is also good friends with Morgan S. At times she and Kristin couldn't stand each other, but they both consider each other friends. Talan Torriero was a major cause of the trouble in their relationship, as he always claimed to love Taylor but would go and hook-up with Kristin. This caused a major fight between the two where Taylor called Kristin a whore.

As of December 2005, she is now attending the University of Arizona in Tucson. She is majoring in psychology and belongs to the Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. She has a younger brother, who was about 3 years old at the end of 2005.

Talan Torriero (born November 2, 1986 in Markham, Ontario) is an original cast member from Season 1 when he was a junior. He hooked-up with Kristin on many occasions. He confessed his love to Taylor at the beginning of season two but then he hooked up with Kristin later that night. That made Taylor extremely angry with him and caused her to yell at him while they were fighting at the beach. They ended up going to winter formal dance together, but he went with Kristin to senior prom. He was not happy with Kristin that night because she was ignoring him and paying attention to a lot of other guys. He decided that he did not want to graduate high school for no apparent reason. Rumors say that he allegedly failed his senior year and decided to drop out.

He dated Lindsay Lohan for a while, adding fuel to any feud between her and Kristin. He was engaged to Kimberly Stewart, Rod Stewart's daughter, after two weeks of dating, but they called it off after 11 days. They stated it was just too soon to enter such a long-term commitment. As of December 2005, both are still very optimistic about their future together. He is living in Los Angeles and has signed on a major record label but had not said which one as of the end of 2005.

Talan finished filming in 2005 for his first starring role in the feature film "Driftwood" with Ricky Ullman and Dallas Page, directed by Tim Sullivan, for Dark Horse Indie and Image Entertainment.

Jason Daniel Wahler was a big character in Season 2. Even though he was a good friend of Stephen, he was never seen in season one. He was compared to Kristin as each were portrayed as treating the opposite sex poorly. He had a relationship with Jessica Smith, who he cheated on, for most of Season 2. Although they broke up halfway through the season they still always ended up together. After Jessica, he moved on to Alex M., who he cheated on with Jessica. After he wrapped up things with Alex he unexpectedly moved on to sweetheart Lauren Conrad (LC). He cheated on her by making out with Jessica again, this time right in front of Lauren at a charity fashion show she was organizing. He later begged her to get back together, but she refused. He used to drive a BMW 330Ci. Jason likes to skate, snowboard and wakeboard, surf and play baseball. As of December 2005 he is living in Los Angeles, California with Stephen where he claims they go out and party every night. Jason was arrested on April 10, 2005 in Laguna Beach for public intoxication. He did not attend the graduation ceremony becuse he reportedly failed his senior year, and there are also rumors he was kicked out. He was also reportedly in and out of rehab twice during the first season, and allegedly one of the big reasons he and Alex M. broke up was because he rammed her head into a wall.

Jessica Smith (born September 15, 1987 in Los Angeles, California) dated Dieter when she was a junior in high school. He said that they had a very close relationship and that he loved her, and when he talked to her in the beginning of season two, she had already moved on and seemed not to care. Some see Jessica as stupid and naive because she kept going back to Jason and even though Kristin told her time and time again that while Jessica was with him he cheated on her, she would have none of it. Jessica is one of Kristin's best friends. Her most memorable high school memory was winter formal.She is rumoured to be currently hanging out with and possibly dating Dieter.

Christina Schuller dealt with the dilemma of going to the college of her choice or pursuing her dreams of singing and acting in season one. She ultimately decided on not going to college but to move to Los Angeles and pursue her acting career. She was only seen in season one of the show and very, very briefly in the beginning of season two. She is the daughter of televangelist Robert A. Schuller and has a brother and sister. She sang at the Crystal Cathedral in season one causing her to miss the Catalina camping trip. She hated that she had to miss the trip. For her 18th birthday her mother surprised her by giving her an audition for Rent on Broadway. Christina did not get the part but felt that it was a very good experience. She is currently an undergrad at USC.

Trey Phillips (born September 15, 1986 in Los Angeles, California)is the founder of youth organization called Active Young America (AYA) whose goal is to inspire young people to adopt activism as a lifestyle by exposing them to youth empowerment, fostering community, and nourishing young culture. He enjoys skating a lot. He was seen as the serious one of the power clique, although he had the best party house. He was rejected from NYU and ended up going to Bard College. He designed his own clothes in season one of the show and even had a fashion show to show them off. Stephen and Dieter said that Trey changed a lot from when he was little and that many people judged him. He was only a major character in season one of Laguna Beach and was seen only twice in the second season of the show. He has the same birthday as pal Jessica Smith.

Was featured on the show in the first season. She was only seen in the first episode of the second season. Morgan was new to the school senior year and made friends really fast. She and Christina became extremely close during the filming of Laguna Beach. Morgan was rejected from the only school that she applied to, Brigham Young University. Her reaction was shown on camera. Somehow Morgan slipped into BYU and she attended the school starting in Fall of 2004. Morgan has very strong beliefs and morals that she wants to hold on to. She wants to remain a virgin until she is married.
